Why Groups Book Here

It beats a
conference room.

A hotel splits your group across floors and charges for a windowless room by the hour. Renting a whole house costs less than it sounds once you stop paying per head for rooms, meals, and meeting space.

Everyone is in the same house

No hotel block, no shuttle, no five people stuck at a different property across town. People end up talking in the kitchen at 11pm, which is usually where the real work gets done.

Space to actually meet

A theater room for presentations, a great room big enough for the whole group, and enough separate rooms that two teams can break off without booking anything extra.

Kitchens that handle a crowd

Multiple full kitchens with commercial-size fridges and several dishwashers. Bring a caterer or cook as a group. Either works, and neither requires a banquet order.

Weekdays are the easiest dates to get

Weekends fill with weddings and families a year out. Monday through Thursday is where the calendar is open, which is usually when companies want to travel anyway.

Nobody has to go find something to do

Indoor pickleball, a game cabin, arcade, theater, sauna, hot tubs, pool, fire pits, and the lake. Downtime happens on the property instead of in a hotel bar.

Two hours from MSP

Close enough to fly people into Minneapolis and drive up the same morning. Far enough that phones stop buzzing with office things.

The Homes

Take the
whole place.

Each of these is a private estate on its own water, booked by the house rather than the room. Nobody else is on the property while your group is there.

Not sure which one fits?

Tell us the headcount and the week. We will tell you which homes are open and what the stay costs, including the minimum nights for that time of year. Weekday stays are priced the same as any other night, and they are usually the easiest dates to lock in.

What Gets Booked

However the week is shaped.

Leadership offsites

Eight to twenty people, two or three nights, one long agenda and a lot of unstructured time around it.

Company retreats

The whole team, once a year. One group has come back every year for theirs.

Sales kickoffs and planning weeks

Present in the theater room, split into working groups through the afternoon, regroup at dinner.

Board and partner meetings

Small, private, and nowhere near a hotel conference floor.

Training and team building

Run sessions all day without watching the clock on a room rental.

Client and incentive trips

Somewhere the people you are hosting could not easily book themselves.

Perfect place for a wedding, family reunion, a big group of great friends together or even a business retreat. Enough space for all and the best stocked kitchen ever.

I've done team-building at campgrounds, conference centers, college campuses, private lake homes, and church facilities... but The Lodge is simply ideal. It's well-maintained spacious and yet cozy facilities include large well-equipped modern kitchen (indoors and out), ample tasteful/functional/comfy furnishings, plenty of split wood for the fireplaces, and an abundance of amenities... which makes The Lodge conducive to team interaction, while also providing space for privacy.

The Lodge on Long Lake was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a company retreat. We had plenty of room to sit, relax and play games. There was 23 of us (staff and spouses) and never felt cramped or confined. The clubhouse was a hit as employees played basketball and ping pong. The theater in the clubhouse allowed everyone to sit comfortably during the trainings each day. Spouses were able to relax in the lodge or play Frisbee golf. The hot tub was used many times and enjoyed by all. We especially loved the extra large kitchen, multiple sinks and dishwashers and 2 large fridges in the kitchen, as well as additional fridges in the clubhouse and in the lower level. Everything was as described and we were never disappointed. The kayaks and water bikes were a hit and having the lifevests supplied was appreciated. They have thought of everything and not once did we get bored. We all hated to leave as it was so amazing. I have already reached out to Brad and Seth to rebook for next year's retreat. I would highly recommend this lodge for anyone looking for a retreat location, family event or wedding.

This was a fantastic property for a group. The house is gorgeous and thoughtfully equipped for families and corporate groups. There was a lot to consider and out, including hot tubs, fire pits, and a game room. The property is wonderful. As an added bonus - the rooms and beds were super comfortable! Staff was easy to work with. Highly recommend!
